Offer - Quiet Fishing spot in the Wide Bay area

I was up at Paradise Dam the other day and I just love this fishing spot. Still a bit of an unknown fishing area it seems - there was not much fishing going on here at all but the lake makes for a fantastic day or weekend and there is certainly plenty of fish going around. The Dam on the Burnett River is not classed as a stocked impoundment therefore no fishing permits are required. However, before the construction of the Dam (which is rather recent) the river was stocked with Bass, Barramundi and Perch. It is very likely and already in the planning that Paradise Dam will be actively stocked in the near future. Visit the Paradise dam website to read up on current fishing permit requirements - or simply ask at the kiosk when you get there.Click here to visit the website

Offer - McKenzies Channel Jacobs Well

Fishing in Mckenzies Channel is a favorite spot of mine, it has a deep gutter at one end and a nice deep rock ledge at the other end, about 15 - 18 ft deep on high tide. The drop of from the rock ledge is an excellent spot to catch big Bream, Flathead and esturary cod passing through the deep channel on the moving tides.
It is best to use a long trace with light floating weight between the swivel and the hook. Drift the bait along the rock ledge, there is no room for error here, when the fish bites it will run for cover under the rock ledge, you need to keep your line tight and up high to keep your catch from getting away.
Happy fishing

Offer - Gold Coast Seaway

There is a variety of fishing methods and spots to try your luck at the Gold Coast Seaway.
Fishing the rock wall on the right tide can produce good quality catches of Bream, Cod and Tailor.
The Spit beach is a good place to try that new surf rod, there are plenty of Bream, Tailor and Dart in the breaking waves. Pilchards, whole squid or lures are excellent here.
There are some sandy shallows on the calm side of the Spit near the boat ramp behind Seaworld, a great place to fish for Whitting. These waters are especially good to fish during the day while the water is warm and full of Flathead.
Drifting in a Boat along the Banks of Wave break Island or anchoring near the rock points will usually produce nice Sized Bream, Flathead and the occasional Snapper or Dew fish at night
