Peel Island is a small island in Moreton Bay on the way over to North Stradbroke Island, like most fishing spots, it has its good and not so good days. The eastern side of Peel is usually good fishing on the running tides with quality catches of Squire, Bream, and Flathead using soft plastics or fresh pilchards, squid or Gar.
The deep chanel between Peel and Nth Straddie has been producing early season Tuna and Mackerel chasing the bait fish, These pelagics can be caught by casting large chrome lures into the middle of the feeding frenzy, but be quiet, it is hard not to spook them, stealth is needed to bag a good fish here but they average around 1.5 - 3 kg...and are great fight.
I like to check to weather cam from
Horseshoe Bay before heading for a session out there.
I would like to hear from other anglers who can share their fishing spots and techneques , you can post them on this website for all our user to enjoy or try.
