I was up at Paradise Dam the other day and I just love this fishing spot. Still a bit of an unknown fishing area it seems - there was not much fishing going on here at all but the lake makes for a fantastic day or weekend and there is certainly plenty of fish going around.
The Dam on the Burnett River is not classed as a stocked impoundment therefore no fishing permits are required. However, before the construction of the Dam (which is rather recent) the river was stocked with Bass, Barramundi and Perch. It is very likely and already in the planning that Paradise Dam will be actively stocked in the near future. Visit the Paradise dam website to read up on current fishing permit requirements - or simply ask at the kiosk when you get there.
